Troian Research Group

Popularity:    Hit: 1108 | Visit: 28
Details
The {LIS2T} research group specializes in the science, development and design of micro- and nanoscale systems based on nonlinear wave phenomena in thin films. Of particular interest are phenomena controlled by the transport of momentum, heat and light along 2D interfaces. Some areas of current interest include 3D construction of micro-optical components by electrical, thermal and magnetic actuation; micropropulsion and microfluidic technologies targeting future surveillance and planetary missions; evanescent wave detection for microsensors; and lipid transport mechanisms underlying respiratory distress syndrome.

Title: Troian Research Group, Laboratory of Interfacial & Small Scale Transport
Image:
Description:

Systems confined to very small dimensions manifest exceedingly large surface to volume ratios and are therefore highly responsive to spatiotemporal control of surface forces and structure formation.
