Passive Integrated Transponder Information System

Popularity:    Hit: 1479 | Visit: 108
The Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) tag has been developed as a research and management tool for monitoring the movement of juvenile and adult salmonids in the Columbia River Basin.
Title: PTAGIS: Columbia Basin PIT Tag Information Systems

PIT (Passive Integrated Transponder) tags are used to monitor the movement and inferred behavior of juvenile and adult salmon and steelhead trout throughout the Columbia River Basin in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. The PIT Tag Information System (PTAGIS) provides a centralized source for real-time PIT tag data accrual, storage, and exchange. This information is typically used by public, academic, and private entities involved in the mitigation and enhancement of the salmon resource. PTAGIS is funded by the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), and administered by the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC).
